Does actually fit XL/XXL!
I am always wary of items that claim to fit multiple sizes, but this does actually fit me, and my hips are size 18/20! (And without squeezing me to death!) The waistband is an amazing quality- it gives a lot of stretch, but can still stay in place whether you wear it higher (just below the navel), or you wear the front underneath most of your belly. The slightly weighted hem is cool, too, very dramatic. I do have to say this much, though-- if you are a larger size, you might want to wear something underneath because when the material stretches to fit the larger sizes, it becomes see-through around your thighs. (So if your feet are apart and you are standing in a lit doorway, for instance, the silhouette looks pretty strange.) Would LOVE to see this skirt come in more colors!!

I ordered 2 black mermaid fusion skirts, one for me and the other for a codancer. We love them. They are well made from soft stretchy fabric, well designed. As a costume designer and performer this is a nice addition to my dance wardrobe.
